Responsibilities
- Safely operate a non-CDL straight truck or van along assigned routes, ensuring timely delivery of USPS mail and packages
- Load and unload shipments using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while following safe lifting practices
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in proper working condition and compliant with DOT regulations
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws, route schedules, and USPS delivery protocols to maintain efficiency and safety standards
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging professionally with recipients during deliveries and pickups
- Utilize mobile devices or GPS systems for route navigation, tracking deliveries, and reporting issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, delivery receipts, and documentation as required by USPS procedures
Experience
- Prior warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is highly desirable
- Proven delivery driver experience with box trucks.
- Knowledge of commercial driving regulations, including DOT (Department of Transportation) standards and heavy lifting safety practices
- Demonstrated ability to handle heavy loads safely while maintaining manual handling best practices
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude during interactions with clients and team members
- Ability to follow detailed instructions, route plans, and traffic regulations consistently
