What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dump Truck Driver position at Davenport Excavation?
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a dump truck to transport materials to and from job sites
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving the truck
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the truck to ensure its safe operation
- Communicate with team members to coordinate deliveries and pick-ups
- Complete necessary paperwork, such as delivery tickets and logbooks, accurately and in a timely manner
- Move small equipment from between jobsites.
- Work with onsite foreman during trucking downtime.
Skills:
- Valid class A commercial driver's license (CDL) is prefered but will consider class B
- Proven experience operating dump trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for operating commercial vehicles
- Ability to safely maneuver the truck in various weather conditions and terrains
- Basic mechanical skills for performing minor repairs and maintenance on the truck
- Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and customers
