Location: Greensboro, NC
Salary: $90,000 – $115,000 (based on experience)
Reports To: VP Supply & Transportation
Position Overview
The Transportation Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the company's transportation assets and driver personnel across multiple terminal markets. This role focuses on driver scheduling, dispatch oversight, compliance, safety, and collaboration between dispatch, maintenance, and HR teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise 30 transport drivers across 4 terminal markets in Virginia and North Carolina.
- Develop and maintain weekly driver schedules to meet operational demands.
- Provide oversight and leadership to dispatch operations to ensure accurate load assignment, timely communication, and efficient routing.
- Collaborate with dispatch to align driver counts with workload requirements.
- Partner with the Director of Safety to implement and enforce safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor and analyze driver efficiency reports to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate with the Transportation Maintenance Manager to address truck and equipment issues.
- Lead driver recruitment efforts, including conducting interviews in coordination with HR.
- Manage driver payroll and ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct site visits for all new delivery locations.
Requirements
- Previous management experience required.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- CDL A license preferred.
- Industry experience preferred.
