Wages: $15.99
Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)
- New Hires: Entry level rate $15.99/hr.; Current employees in the bargaining unit: Please refer to the salary schedule established by the applicable bargaining group.
- Assist with and support classroom teachers with reading and math instruction and small group intervention.
- Assist with daily activities and routines of students.
- Work collaboratively with teacher(s) using developmentally appropriate practices.
- Assist teacher in monitoring students' progress by keeping necessary records and giving feedback as requested.
- Follow teacher directions for instructions.
- Use positive reinforcement techniques to assist in managing behavior throughout the school routine including transition times and recess.
- Engage in on-going staff development.
- Model flexibility in duties as the needs of students change.
- Model enthusiasm and patience.
- Supervision before school and at recess.
- Attend study trips as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by building administrator.
- Successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.
- Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully.
- Must be willing to support and implement Davenport's multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) for both behavior and academics.
- PLEASE NOTE: This position is funded via Title I funds on an annual basis and may not be renewed the following year.

Physical Requirements of Position: (HBV ? Yes ? No)
- Hands on position; able to work with children while sitting on the carpet and/or in small work areas
- Ability to withstand weather for outside activities
- Must be able to lift, pull and push 50 lbs.
