Role Description
Dave Schmitt Engineering is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer (Land Development) to join our team in Orlando, FL. This is a full-time, in-office role offering the opportunity to lead and contribute to a diverse portfolio of land development projects.
In this role, you will be responsible for the design and coordination of utility systems (water, sanitary sewer, and stormwater), as well as grading and drainage plans. You will play a key role in advancing projects from concept through permitting and construction, working closely with clients, architects, and regulatory agencies.
This position requires the ability to manage multiple projects, maintain schedules, and help guide design efforts while ensuring quality and efficiency. You may also represent projects in meetings and public hearings.
Qualifications
- 4 years of experience in civil engineering or land development design
- Strong experience with grading, drainage, and utility system design
- Proficiency in ICPR4 and stormwater modeling
- AutoCAD proficiency required
- Experience coordinating with local agencies and navigating permitting processes
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- P.E. license is a plus, but not required
