Duties
- Lead and motivate a team of mechanics, service technicians, and support staff to deliver top-quality automotive repairs and services.
- Oversee daily shop operations, including scheduling, workflow management, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Manage customer interactions by providing expert advice on vehicle repairs, explaining service estimates, and upselling additional maintenance or repair services.
- Ensure all automotive diagnostics are accurately performed using the latest tools and technology; oversee repairs on transmissions, oil changes, brake systems, suspensions, alignments, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brakes, auto body repairs, and more.
- Maintain high standards of service writing and auto estimating to ensure accurate billing and efficient workflow.
- Handle cash transactions responsibly while maintaining precise records of sales and services rendered.
- Monitor inventory levels for parts such as tires, filters, oils, and mechanical components; coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement.
- Uphold compliance with industry standards and manufacturer specifications across all repair work.
Qualifications
- Proven extensive auto service management background with a comprehensive understanding of automotive repair processes.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on mechanic experience; familiarity with automotive diagnostics is essential.
- Expertise in vehicle maintenance including transmissions, oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, suspensions, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repair.
- Demonstrated ability in auto estimating and service writing to accurately assess repair needs and communicate effectively with customers.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with sales acumen; capable of upselling services confidently while maintaining customer trust.
- Experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment; ability to motivate staff and optimize shop productivity.
- Valid certifications related to automotive repair (ASE certifications preferred) along with familiarity with auto estimating software.
