Responsibilities
- Assess vehicle damage thoroughly to determine the scope of repairs needed, including auto body, sheet metal, and auto glass work
- Perform auto body repairs such as dent removal, panel replacement, sanding, priming, and painting using airless paint spraying techniques
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, MIG welding, soldering, and fabrication skills to restore vehicles to factory standards
- Conduct mechanical inspections and perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks as needed during the repair process
- Repair or replace auto glass components with precision while ensuring safety standards are met
- Complete auto estimating documentation accurately and communicate repair progress with staff effectively
- Handle heavy lifting safely when moving or positioning vehicle parts or entire vehicles during repair procedures
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background in auto body repair and automotive restoration
- Skilled in MIG welding, soldering, sheet metal work, and fabrication techniques
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, auto painting equipment including airless paint sprayers, and auto glass installation tools
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and customer service principles is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work efficiently in a physically demanding environment
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship in auto body repair and finishing processes
- Automotive repair or mechanic experience is highly desirable for a well-rounded skill set
