Position Summary

Davcor Aviation Services is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and hands-on Shop Support Technician to assist with daily shop operations, material preparation, and general production support.

This position requires an individual who can accurately read and interpret shop drawings, understand measurements, dimensions, shapes, and angles, and apply that information to the layout, cutting, and shaping of materials.

The ability to interpret technical drawings and translate them into accurately finished materials is essential for success in this role. Previous experience with foam fabrication, particularly hand cutting foam using hot wire equipment, is highly desirable but not required.

The successful candidate will support a variety of shop activities while maintaining a strong commitment to accuracy, quality, safety, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and follow shop drawings to accurately lay out, cut, and shape materials to the specified dimensions, shapes, and angles.

• Interpret written work instructions, measurements, and technical drawings to ensure materials are prepared according to project specifications.

• Identify and differentiate shapes, angles, and dimensions shown in drawings and apply that information during material preparation and fabrication.

• Perform foam cutting, shaping, and fabrication tasks using appropriate tools and equipment, including hot wire cutting equipment when applicable.

• Verify measurements and finished material dimensions to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.

• Provide general shop assistance and support daily production activities.

• Assist with material preparation, organization, and movement of supplies.

• Maintain clear, accurate notes and work records related to assigned tasks.

• Operate basic hand tools, measuring devices, and shop equipment safely and effectively.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

• Follow established safety procedures, company policies, and quality standards.

• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and operational deadlines.

• Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to assist with additional shop responsibilities as operational needs evolve.

• Perform other duties as assigned to support overall shop operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Ability to read, interpret, and understand written work instructions and shop drawings is required.

• Ability to identify and differentiate shapes and angles shown in drawings, understand the dimensions, and apply that information when laying out, cutting, and shaping foam.

• Ability to accurately translate technical drawings and specifications into finished materials that meet required measurements, shapes, and angles.

• Ability to write clear, accurate notes and work records.

• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow instructions and verify measurements for accuracy.

• Basic understanding of measurements, dimensions, angles, and geometric shapes.

• Previous experience in a shop, manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, or production environment preferred.

• Experience hand cutting foam using hot wire equipment is highly desirable but not required.

• Basic knowledge of hand tools, measuring equipment, and general shop practices preferred.

• Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn new skills and processes.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.

• Ability to perform hands-on work involving standing, bending, lifting, and handling materials throughout the workday.

• Pay Range: $18.00–$24.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

• Regular Schedule: Monday through Friday

• Shift: Day Shift, beginning at 6:00 AM

• Overtime: Availability required based on production and operational needs

• Weekends: May be required as needed
