Position Overview
Davco Roofing & Sheet Metal is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join the current team and drive accurate, competitive project pricing across varying segments of commercial roofing. This role plays a key part in our growth and requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of their work, and collaborates effectively across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Join the estimating process for commercial roofing and sheet metal projects from bid through operational handoff
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to prepare accurate and competitive estimates
- Prepare change order requests as they arise throughout the life of awarded commercial roofing projects.
- Develop detailed takeoffs, budgets, and proposals
- Collaborate closely with operations, sales, and leadership
- Prepare and submit project submittal packages for awarded commercial roofing projects
- Prepare and submit material lists to purchasing once projects are awarded
- Prepare comprehensive project work orders for awarded projects to provide to operations
- Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Identify risks, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities
- Take full accountability for estimate accuracy and completeness
- Manage multiple bids with a strong sense of urgency and prioritization
- Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders
- Monitor job costs throughout the entirety of all estimated projects
- Participate in weekly estimating and operations update meetings
Qualifications
- 5 years of estimating experience in commercial roofing (preferably, but not required with experience estimating in The Edge)
- Strong knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and installation methods
- Proficiency in estimating and takeoff software
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
Salary : $100,000 - $135,000
