Pay Overview
Servers are paid an hourly rate of $2.13 per hour, plus tips; serving staff are guaranteed a minimum of $12.77 per hour, with hourly wage and tips combined.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing attentive and personalized service throughout their visit
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS, ensuring timely delivery
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and maximize sales opportunities
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and sanitation
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately, including cashiering and processing payments via POS systems like Toast or similar platforms
- Assist with food safety protocols, food handling, and sanitation standards to ensure a safe dining environment
- Support restaurant operations by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and assisting with food preparation when needed
- Foster positive guest relations through attentive service, addressing inquiries promptly, and resolving concerns professionally
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless communication between front-of-house and back-of-house teams
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with health regulations, including proper food handling procedures and execution of assigned side-work duties for each shift.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in foodservice and hospitality a plus, but not required
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast or OpenTable for order entry and payment processing
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques a plus
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest experience and increase sales
- Previous experience in serving, bussing, or host/hostess roles is highly desirable
- Basic math skills for cash handling and POS transactions; attention to detail is essential
- Culinary or kitchen experience is a plus but not required; a passion for the food industry is valued highly
