The operator uses a cold-feed extruder to convert strips of uncured rubber into tubes, strips or cord. Those materials are used to make preforms for molding.

Job Duties
The operator performs these activities:
- Completes daily time card
- Follows and signs work orders
- If required, completes work order changes
- Follows extruding schedule for shift;
- Cleans out extruder
- Follows safety rules.
- Extrudes tube on a 2.5-inch extruder
- Extrudes tube on a 4.5-inch extruder
- Extrudes strips on a 2.5-inch extruder
- Extrudes strips on a 4.5-inch extruder
- Extrudes cord on a 2.5-inch extruder
- Extrudes and chops tube on a 2.5 inch extruder
- Minimum education: 12th grade or equivalent
- Minimum experience: six months’ as an extruder helper
- Must be able to use dial calipers.
- Stands on concrete floor up to 10 hours.
- Lifts reels of rubber weighing up to 50 pounds.
- $19-21 per hour
