Role: NVH Propulsion Engineer
Location: Auburn Hills, Michigan
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field from an ABET-accredited university.
- 8 years of NVH engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of propulsion and vehicle system NVH.
- Hands-on automotive NVH experience with conventional and hybrid ICE propulsion systems, electric motors, gearboxes, and power inverter modules.
- Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in NVH measurement tools such as LMS Test.Lab, HEAD Acoustics Artemis, Rotec, Mueller-BBM, MATLAB, and Simulink.
- Experience with:
- Sound pressure measurements per SAE J1074
- Sound intensity and sound power measurements per ISO 3744 & 3745
- Vehicle interior noise measurements per SAE J336
- Sound quality measurement and analysis
- Experience with NVH root-cause analysis including Transfer Path Analysis, Modal Analysis, and Angle Domain Analysis.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve propulsion system NVH issues (conventional, hybrid ICE, electric motors, gearboxes, inverter modules).
- Working knowledge of digital signal processing (FFT), electronic control modules (ECMs), and modern CAN communication protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field from an ABET-accredited university.
- Prior experience leading product development within an automotive OEM.
- Highly adaptable, with the ability to embrace change in a fast-paced environment.
