Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Dialysis Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing safe and effective dialysis treatments to patients with kidney failure. The Dialysis Technician will work closely with medical staff to ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the treatment process.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate dialysis machines according to established protocols and patient needs
- Monitor patients during dialysis sessions, observing vital signs and responding to any adverse reactions
- Maintain a sterile environment using aseptic techniques to prevent infections
- Document treatment details accurately in patient records
- Educate patients on dialysis procedures, post-treatment care, and lifestyle adjustments
- Assist with patient assessments, including understanding their medical history and current condition
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and calibrated for optimal performance
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans
Experience
- Prior experience working with dialysis treatments or in a nephrology setting is preferred
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to renal care
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and infection control practices
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and reassure patients
- Certification as a Dialysis Technician or related healthcare certification is highly desirable
- Basic understanding of medical equipment operation and troubleshooting skills
