  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • 3 years of related experience
  • Experience conducting policy or regulatory research and analysis
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Mandatory skills/certification(s) Requirement:
  • Desired skills: * Prior experience with CDBG-DR funded projects
  • Familiarity with housing development or infrastructure projects
  • Job Duties The Division of Disaster Recovery and Mitigation (DRM) is seeking a dedicated Program Specialist to contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funded programs.

The Program Specialist will work under the supervision of the Program Manager to coordinate various aspects of DRM's resilient programs. This role involves a deep understanding of program policies, federal and state regulations, requirements, procedures, and guidelines, as well as effective communication with applicants and stakeholders.

  • Job responsibilities in Brief Major Responsibilities:
  • Research, interpret, and apply federal and state regulations to ensure program compliance.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with internal procedures and external regulations.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments to drive program progress.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to disseminate program updates and collect necessary information.
  • Formulate and revise policies, standard operating procedures, and applicant-facing documents, including training materials and correspondence.
  • Generate and update documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Adobe PDF software.
  • Audit financial statements and invoices to ensure alignment with program policy.
  • Obtain and review project status reports for monitoring and accountability.
  • Evaluate and score project proposals and applications according to established criteria.
  • Work directly with applicants to collect and assess documentation for eligibility determinations.

Pay: $32.09 per hour
