- Job Duties The Division of Disaster Recovery and Mitigation (DRM) is seeking a dedicated Program Specialist to contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funded programs.
The Program Specialist will work under the supervision of the Program Manager to coordinate various aspects of DRM's resilient programs. This role involves a deep understanding of program policies, federal and state regulations, requirements, procedures, and guidelines, as well as effective communication with applicants and stakeholders.
- Job responsibilities in Brief Major Responsibilities:
- Research, interpret, and apply federal and state regulations to ensure program compliance.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with internal procedures and external regulations.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments to drive program progress.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to disseminate program updates and collect necessary information.
- Formulate and revise policies, standard operating procedures, and applicant-facing documents, including training materials and correspondence.
- Generate and update documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Adobe PDF software.
- Audit financial statements and invoices to ensure alignment with program policy.
- Obtain and review project status reports for monitoring and accountability.
- Evaluate and score project proposals and applications according to established criteria.
- Work directly with applicants to collect and assess documentation for eligibility determinations.
