DataStaff Inc. is seeking a .NET Programmer Analyst for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients located in Richmond, VA.

Job Description
The .NET Developer will support the modernization of an enterprise tolling transaction platform undergoing a partial rewrite using microservices and modularization. The developer will work within an Agile/Scrum team and contribute to the development of backend services and application components using .NET Core and C#. This role collaborates with solution architects, cloud engineers, SQL developers, API developers, and testers and reports to the Development Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain .NET Core backend services and APIs.
- Collaborate with SQL developers to implement efficient data access patterns.
- Contribute to modernization of the tolling platform using microservices and modular architecture.
- Develop new application features and enhance existing functionalities.
- Participate in performance optimization efforts across application layers.
- Integrate with Azure-based components and cloud services.
- Support CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps or GitHub pipelines.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and deliver sprint commitments.
Required Skills:
- 7 Years - Experience developing applications using .NET Core and C#.
- 7 Years - Experience building REST APIs and microservices.
- 7 Years - Experience consuming and integrating with SQL Server on Azure VM environments.
- 7 Years - Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and best practices.
- 7 Years - Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub for CI/CD pipelines.
- 7 Years - Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
Desired Skills:
- 5 Years - Experience with Terraform or other IaC tools.
- 5 Years - Familiarity with domain-driven design and microservices.
- 5 Years - Experience with distributed systems or high-availability environments.
- 5 Years - Understanding of tolling or transportation systems (preferred but not required).
- 3 Years - Experience integrating backend systems with ETL pipelines such as SSIS or Databricks.
