- Provide essential technical knowledge and perform engineering work as described below.
- Serve as a staff engineer performing engineering assignments of intermediate complexity.
- Under direct supervision of the Discipline Lead Engineer or Area Lead Engineer:
- Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding technical solutions to problems of intermediate complexity in accordance with project requirements.
- Develop and review specifications and design criteria.
- Perform and check engineering analyses and calculations.
- Specify materials, equipment, and systems.
- Solve technical problems of intermediate complexity.
- Coordinate technical issues with:
- Other disciplines
- Project management
- Vendors
- Clients
- Execute work in compliance with:
- Project Quality Plan
- Company procedures
- Execute work in accordance with approved:
- Project scope
- Cost baselines
- Schedule baselines
- Establish, control, and report on material key quantities.
- Provide analysis and forecasts.

- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical (Power) Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
- Working knowledge of:
- Federal codes and standards (including DOE Orders)
- State codes and standards
- Local codes and standards

- Create and modify electrical design drawings including:
- Single line diagrams
- Schematics
- Wiring diagrams
- Raceway layouts
- Lighting layouts
- Grounding layouts
- Perform complex system studies including:
- Short circuit studies
- Load flow studies
- Stability studies
- Motor starting studies
- Harmonics studies
- Relay coordination studies
- Ground grid studies
- Develop:
- Area classifications
- Electrical design documents
- Perform electrical calculations including:
- Short circuit calculations
- Relay coordination
- Voltage drop
- Cable de-rating
- Cable pulling tension
- Prepare:
- Motor schematics
- Wiring diagrams
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience designing systems, structures, and components for nuclear facilities under ASME NQA-1 requirements.
- Practical field experience.
- EPC project experience within:
- U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)
- Other U.S. Federal Government Agencies
- Nuclear facilities operating under a nuclear QA program
- Manufacturing environments
- Pharmaceutical facilities
- Biotechnology facilities
- Proficiency with:
- Intergraph Smart3D (S3D)
- Visual Professional lighting design software
- Advanced knowledge of electrical power systems software including:
- SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL)
- ETAP
- Intermediate knowledge of power systems.
