What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Field Technician position at DataServ?

We offer on-the-job training for the physical installation of a variety of solutions at customer sites across Ohio to ensure you are prepared for and comfortable with the tasks assigned to you and your team. Youd be a part of our project team responsible for staging equipment at our headquarters in Westlake, then transporting it to the customer sites. Finally, youd be involved with both installation and testing of the solution to guarantee optimal customer experience year-round according to best practices and following the guidance and instruction of the on-site field lead.

What youll do:
- Represent DataServ in a positive manner to colleagues, customer base and vendors.
- Assist engineers with staging and installation activities.
- Transport equipment between sites using a large company vehicle.
- Travel to customer sites to mount, rack and place various equipment including access points, door controls, phones, servers, switches, video surveillance cameras, etc.
- Mounting equipment to concrete walls will require the use of power tools and extended ladders which we will provide training on
- Participate in internal and customer project meetings as needed.
- Follow internal processes and embrace best practices.
- Be a supportive team member to others.
- All other duties as assigned.
What we require:
- Handle pressure and maintain professionalism.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Frequent travel across the state of Ohio, Monday - Friday with extended hours.
- Mechanically inclined; ability to use power tools, hand tools and climb ladders. (Experience is preferred but we do offer in-house training)
- Meet physical demands of the position including the ability to lift and handle up to 45 pounds of materials, bend, stoop and stretch as required for placement and retrieval of materials or equipment on shelving with or without accommodation.
Additional proficiencies we seek:

- High degree of professionalism to appropriately act as a representative of the organization
- Candidates are required to complete a drug test and background check
