The Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the accounting and finance functions for one or more manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities include month-end close activities, cost accounting, account reconciliations, payroll processing, accounts payable, and financial reporting support. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly close process for one to two manufacturing facilities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Review and record inventory transactions, analyze variances, and communicate findings to management.
- Process weekly payroll through a third-party payroll provider (e.g., Paychex, ADP, or similar platforms).
- Manage accounts payable activities, including invoice processing, three-way matching, approval workflows, and weekly payment runs.
- Enter approved vendor invoices into the ERP system and maintain accurate records.
- Assist with year-end close activities and support external audit requirements.
- Perform general accounting functions, including account reconciliations, cash application, pricing updates, and journal entries.
- Collaborate with the Accounting Manager on special projects, process improvements, and other finance initiatives.
- Provide accounting support for additional manufacturing locations as needed.
Qualifications Required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–4 years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, lookups, and report formatting.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
