The Jr. Hyperscale Solutions Engineer is an important part of the DataBank team, responsible for working with the Hyperscale Sales team to provide technical insight during the sales process. This includes working directly with Hyperscale customers either with a Sales Executive or independently during the pre-sales process, working with the DataBank Engineering, Construction, Operations & Facility teams to ensure proper solution design and scoping, and working with the DataBank provisioning team during customer on-boarding.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver technical presentations to existing and potential customers.
• Deliver guided data center tours highlighting and discussing technical aspects of data center design.
• Reviewing electrical, mechanical, etc. Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), architectural floorplans and other technical documents with customers.
• Gather technical requirements from potential customers and manage completion across a wide range of internal DataBank teams.
• Work with DataBank Engineering team to develop alternative designs specific to Hyperscale requirements where needed.
• Prepare technical proposals for Hyperscale Colocation opportunities.
• Work with sales team on RFP responses and proposal preparation.
• Independently manage customer requests for adds/changes/terminations for colocation solutions. (space, power, cross-connects)
• Train & support customer use of DataBank Portal.
  
  

Desired Skills & Experience:

Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills, abilities, and knowledge:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 4 years in Pre-sales, Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering or Systems Engineering role.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint & Visio.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (minimum ability to work with CAD files using DWG viewer, ability to modify/create colocation layouts using AutoCAD strongly desired).
• Working knowledge in the majority of the following collocation areas:
• Power design: N 1, 2N, 2N 1, N 2C, 208V, 208V 3PH, 415/480V
• Cooling designs: chilled water, pumped refrigerant, heat exchanger doors, etc.
• Cooling density: ability to properly design solution for various densities including high density
• Connectivity: POE, conduit and fiber routing, carrier connectivity, KMZs, etc.
• Ability to compare and contrast potential solutions with focus on differentiating DataBank solutions.
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Detail oriented with strong interpersonal & presentation skills.
• Team player with ability to quickly establish strong working relationships with peers and customers.
