At the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), we are at the forefront in preventing and detecting terrorist financing, money laundering, and other financial crime. Serve at the nation's financial intelligence unit and protect the United States financial system from criminals and terrorist financiers.

Qualifications:

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your résumé.

Specialized Experience For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:

- Managing IT projects through multiple phases of the lifecycle (e.g., requirements, development, implementation, and operations); AND
- Applying technical knowledge in one or more relevant IT domains (such as customer support services, data/analytics, or cloud/infrastructure environments); AND
- Coordinating with stakeholders and leadership to deliver solutions that meet organizational mission needs.

In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
  1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Responsibilities:

This position is located in our Technology Division. As an Information Technology Project Manager, you will:
  • Lead complex data and analytics initiatives involving large, sensitive datasets in classified and unclassified environments;
  • Manage cross-functional teams to design and deliver data integration, transformation, and analytics capabilities (e.g., data warehousing, ETL processes, AI/ML-enabled analytics) across multiple systems and stakeholders;
  • Ensure data integrity, accessibility, and compliance with applicable data management, security and privacy policies and standards;
  • Communicate complex analytic and technical concepts to senior leadership, translating data insights into actionable recommendations to inform strategic decision-making.
