POSITION SUMMARY:
The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for managing the flow of incoming and outgoing materials within the facility. This role ensures accurate receipt, handling, storage, and shipment of products while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting overall operational efficiency. The position plays a key role in ensuring materials are delivered on time, properly documented, and handled in accordance with company standards and safety procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality
· Prepare, package, and ship outgoing orders in a timely manner to the customer’s requirements
· Maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation
· Operate saw equipment to cut materials to specified dimensions, as needed
· Organize, store, and track inventory within the facility
· Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records
· Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
· Communicate with team members regarding material needs and order status
· Follow all company safety procedures and operational guidelines
· Assist with other shop duties as assigned
SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or GED preferred
· Previous shipping/receiving or warehouse experience preferred
· Experience operating saws or machine shop equipment is a plus
· Basic knowledge of inventory management processes
· Ability to read work orders and follow instructions
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Ability to operate forklifts and cranes, or willingness to be trained (if applicable)
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds
· Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
· Ability to operate machinery and material handling equipment
· Work performed in a clean and organized machine shop
· Exposure to typical shop equipment and noise levels
Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour
