Junior Product Engineer will be responsible for maintaining product work instructions, product specifications, updating cost systems, providing quotes and estimates to the sales department, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role involves developing the costing strategy and working closely with production, sales, and engineering teams.
Responsibilities

Maintain cost standards relating to speeds, setups, labor, and more.

Measure and evaluate raw material consumption.

Update cost system with new equipment and equipment upgrades.

Provide quotes and estimates to sales department

Create and maintain product work instructions.

Design product specifications based on customer quotations.

Collects data and analyzes all project costs, including raw materials, labor, equipment and tooling to ensure estimates are accurate.

Establish cost estimates of production processes and tooling costs and review alternatives or put forward recommendations for improvement.

Investigate and identify cost reduction opportunities through cost analysis review.

Contribute to cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures and monitor trend.
Minimum Experience:
3 or more years’ experience in an engineering role preferred. Prior experience in manufacturing is a plus.
Qualifications:

Excellent attention to detail.

Sufficient knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the trade.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Must be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demands.

Must be capable of reading drawings and inspecting the work being performed.

Must be capable of working with minimal supervision.
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
