Position Overview
The Office of Data Governance is seeking an experienced Data Governance Analyst to support the implementation and ongoing maturity of the agency's Enterprise Data Governance Program.
The Data Governance Analyst will work closely with Data Owners, Data Stewards, Business Owners, Enterprise Architecture, Data Engineering teams, Project Teams, and Information Security stakeholders to establish trusted, governed, and high-quality enterprise data assets that support both operational and analytical use cases.
This role will focus on governance activities for enterprise data ingested into the AWS Data Platform and consumed through Snowflake. The successful candidate will help establish and operationalize data governance processes, metadata standards, business rules, Critical Data Elements (CDEs), data quality standards, data lineage, and data stewardship practices across the enterprise data ecosystem.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Data Governance
- Data Management
- Data Quality
- Business Analysis
- Metadata Management
- Data Architecture
- Data Stewardship
- Related data management disciplines
- Demonstrated experience implementing or supporting enterprise Data Governance programs.
- Experience facilitating governance workshops and working sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
- Strong SQL skills with experience performing data analysis, profiling, validation, and reconciliation.
- Experience documenting and maintaining:
- Business metadata
- Technical metadata
- Business glossaries
- Data dictionaries
- Experience defining and documenting:
- Business rules
- Critical Data Elements (CDEs)
- Data quality standards
- Data validation rules
- Experience performing data profiling, data reconciliation, and data validation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with both business and technical stakeholders.
