Color Printing Ink Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Color Printing Ink Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role involves overseeing the preparation, mixing, and quality control of printing inks used in various printing processes, including screen printing and flexo press operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in color management, graphic design, and manufacturing techniques, ensuring consistent color accuracy and high-quality output for print advertising and packaging applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and formulate printing inks according to specified color formulas, utilizing knowledge of color management and layout design.
• Operate and maintain printing equipment such as flexo presses, CNC machinery, and machining tools to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct quality control checks on ink batches to verify color consistency, viscosity, and adherence to specifications.
• Assist in prepress activities including layout design, typography, and proofing using Adobe Creative Suite tools.
• Manage inventory of raw materials, including pigments and additives, ensuring proper storage and usage.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to troubleshoot issues related to ink formulation or printing processes.
• Maintain safety standards by operating forklifts when necessary and adhering to all safety protocols during production activities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to print quality, efficiency, and process optimization.

Skills

• Proficiency in screen printing techniques and prepress processes.
• Strong understanding of color management principles for accurate ink matching.
• Experience with graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Knowledge of manufacturing environments, including flexo press operation and CNC machinery.
• Ability to operate forklifts safely within a production setting.
• Familiarity with quality control procedures for printed materials.
• Basic machining skills for equipment maintenance or adjustments.
• Understanding of typography and layout design relevant to print advertising materials.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.
