This position is responsible for leading the development and execution of Data Axle’s healthcare vertical strategy across payer and provider markets. The Vice President, Healthcare Strategy - Payer role serves as a senior strategic leader and trusted advisor to executive-level client stakeholders while shaping Data Axle’s go-to-market strategy, product positioning, and thought leadership within the healthcare industry.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role partners closely with General Managers, Product leadership, Sales, Data Science, and Client Services teams to deliver measurable outcomes for clients across marketing, sales, patient/member engagement, distribution, and operational performance. The VP operates in both client-facing and market-shaping capacities to drive growth, innovation, and long-term enterprise value.

Essential Job Functions: *

  1. Develop and lead healthcare vertical strategy across payer and provider markets
  2. Serve as a senior strategic advisor to executive client stakeholders, delivering consultative engagements from problem framing through solution development and measurable value realization
  3. Build and deepen C-suite relationships across marketing, sales, operations, and executive leadership within client organizations
  4. Develop and execute multi-year account strategies that drive expansion, retention, and long-term partnership growth
  5. Identify and activate new use cases for Data Axle’s data, analytics, and identity solutions across payer and provider environments
  6. Influence vertical-specific product and service design in collaboration with Product, Data Science, Agency, and Client Service teams
  7. Shape and support go-to-market strategies for healthcare segments, including messaging, positioning, and solution packaging
  8. Support complex sales pursuits as a subject matter expert and executive sponsor
  9. Represent Data Axle at industry conferences, executive forums, and thought leadership events
  10. Develop vertical-specific content including webinars, white papers, presentations, and market insights
  11. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure integrated delivery of healthcare solutions across teams
  12. Maintain awareness of healthcare regulatory, operational, and market trends impacting payer and provider organizations

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

  1. Deep knowledge of healthcare payer and provider markets, including Medicare, Medicaid, employer-sponsored plans, and commercial segments
  2. Strong understanding of healthcare utilization, cost management, risk adjustment, member acquisition and retention strategies
  3. Familiarity with provider systems, hospital networks, brokers, and related healthcare ecosystems
  4. Expertise in consultative strategy development and enterprise account growth
  5. Strong knowledge of data and analytics solutions, including demographic/behavioral data, claims and eligibility data, identity resolution, segmentation, and measurement frameworks
  6. Executive-level communication and presentation skills
  7. Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and operate effectively in a matrix organization
  8. Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving capabilities
  9. Ability to originate and lead executive-level conversations with prospects and clients
  10. High level of business acumen and industry credibility


Education, Experience, and Certification: *

  1. Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  2. 10 years of experience in healthcare consulting, payer/provider leadership, marketing agency leadership, or enterprise consultative sales roles
  3. Proven track record of growing large enterprise accounts and leading multi-stakeholder healthcare strategies
  4. Demonstrated experience serving both payer and provider organizations
  5. Experience influencing product and go-to-market strategy within healthcare markets preferred

Scope of Job:

  1. Senior executive-level individual contributor role
  2. Reports to the Chief Operating Officer
  3. Operates with broad strategic autonomy and enterprise-wide influence
  4. Regular interaction with executive-level internal and external stakeholders
  5. Boston location preferred; open to remote within the U.S.
  6. Frequent client travel required
  7. Errors may significantly impact revenue, enterprise partnerships, and vertical market positioning
  8. Regular access to confidential company and client information
