Since 2012, we’ve partnered with more than 44 propane business owners to help them transition to their next chapter preserving what made their companies great while investing in people, safety, and long-term growth.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

You’ll oversee day-to-day operations across multiple functions sales, operations, customer service, and technical teams ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, and at scale. You’ll translate broad company goals into clear operating plans, track performance through data and financial metrics, and adjust course when conditions change.

Success in this role means building strong relationships with employees, customers, suppliers, and regulators; maintaining rigorous safety and compliance standards; and identifying opportunities to improve margins, processes, and customer experience. Within your first 90 days, you’ll be expected to understand the operational rhythms of the business, identify near-term efficiency wins, and establish credibility as a steady, visible leader.

What You’ll Actually Do in Your First 30 Days

  • Visit multiple locations to understand field operations, safety practices, and team dynamics firsthand
  • Review existing budgets, operating metrics, and safety/compliance reports to assess current performance
  • Meet with key leaders across sales, operations, and customer service to understand priorities and pain points
  • Identify 1–2 immediate operational or process improvements that can positively impact safety, service, or cost control

Must Have

  • 6 years of experience in an operations leadership role with responsibility for teams and budgets
  • Proven experience managing safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements in a field-based operation
  • Ability to analyze financial and operational data to make informed decisions and manage costs
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead across functions and build trust with teams and customers

Nice to Have

  • Valid CDL with hazmat, tanker, and air brake endorsements (must be maintained)
  • Experience in the propane or energy industry
  • Experience leading geographically distributed or multi-site teams
  • Background in strategic planning, business growth, or market expansion
  • Experience representing a company at industry events or community engagements

Salary : $50,000 - $180,000
