Primary Function

The Senior Director of Business Development is responsible for driving the sale of Dacon Corporation capabilities within assigned regional markets, developing and maintaining client relationships, and providing customer service that meets or exceeds client expectations. This role focuses on expanding Dacon’s market presence in the industrial and utility sectors through proactive business development and relationship management. The position will be based in our Deer Park, Texas, office located at 1300 Underwood Road and will report to Dacon’s Senior Vice President.

Duties & Responsibilities

Employee may be called upon to perform any or all of the following functions:

  • Contact current and prospective clients to promote the full spectrum of services offered by Dacon Corporation.
  • Conduct regular client visits within assigned territory; maintain a consistent cadence of client engagement and submit weekly sales call reports and monthly summary reports to leadership.
  • Investigate new markets and identify prospective clients in coordination with Dacon leadership; develop strategies to expand Dacon’s market presence in assigned regions.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through regular contact, business meetings, site visits, and professional correspondence.
  • Coordinate pricing, proposals, and quote letters with Dacon leadership; ensure competitive and accurate service offerings.
  • Ensure that terms and conditions are established with prospective clients; submit terms to leadership for review and approval.
  • Promote long-term maintenance service agreements and recurring revenue opportunities.
  • Follow up on outstanding quotations and proposals; update the negotiation database with current status and results.
  • Maintain and update the client database with current contact information, engagement history, and business intelligence.
  • Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to represent Dacon and generate new business leads.
  • Collaborate with Field Services technical sales staff to develop client presentations, capability statements, and service proposals.
  • Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned or requested.

  • Expand Dacon’s market presence in assigned regions by identifying and developing new business opportunities in the industrial and utility sectors.
  • Strengthen client retention and satisfaction by maintaining consistent, proactive engagement that demonstrates Dacon’s commitment to service excellence.
  • Provide valuable market intelligence to leadership by reporting on competitive activity, client needs, and emerging opportunities within assigned territory.
  • Support Dacon’s long-term growth strategy by promoting recurring maintenance agreements and multi-year service partnerships.

Required

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Marketing, Business, or a related field from an accredited university; equivalent professional experience of 4 or more years may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in technical sales, business development, or account management.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude with knowledge and understanding of high-voltage substation systems and electrical infrastructure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to individuals with varied technical backgrounds.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build and sustain client relationships at multiple organizational levels.
  • Ability to identify and influence key decision makers within prospective client organizations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to develop and execute work plans, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; willingness to travel regionally within assigned territory (up to 25%).
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Preferred

  • Sales experience in the high-voltage electrical, utility, or industrial services field.
  • Familiarity with Dashiell’s service capabilities including testing, commissioning, engineering, and construction.
  • Experience with CRM software and sales pipeline management tools.
  • Established professional network within the utility or industrial energy markets in assigned region.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods during computer-based work.
  • Ability to stand and walk intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional travel to client offices, project sites, and meeting locations.

Environmental Conditions

  • Primarily climate-controlled office environment.
  • Occasional exposure to field or industrial environments during client site visits.
