Summary

This role communicates with patients, referral sources, and across multiple teams to request documentation that is needed, complete patient requests, and assist where needed. Must be an actively licensed Respiratory Therapist, Registered Nurse, or LPN.

Summary
The Respiratory Services Clinician supports the clinical teams in completing daily tasks for our patients. This role communicates with patients, referral sources, and across multiple teams to request documentation that is needed, complete patient requests, and assist where needed. Essential Functions
- Completes Compliance tasks daily; including contacting patients, scheduling appointments with an Advanced Care Team member, and completing Sleep Glad or Telehealth appointments.
- Reviews insurance compliance requirements with patients for NIV, PAP, and percussion vests.
- Educates patient on the use & maintenance of their PAP machine & supplies.
- Assists in PAP charting when needed.
- Completes pressure change orders from physicians for PAP
- NIV intake team members assist in reviewing incoming NIV orders for clinical appropriateness. NIV intake team members provide guidance on necessary NIV and percussion vest coverage guidelines to ensure adequate documentation is provided to request and maintain authorizations.
- NIV intake members assist in communicating with referral sources and insurance companies when needed to help retrieve needed documents, submit appeals, and streamline the approval/authorization process.
- O2 save team members educate patients on the importance of oxygen, identify barriers to adhering to oxygen treatment, and assist in communicating with referral sources when needed during the O2 save process.
- Supports the continuum of care by communicating with the physician or other clinicians, identifying, and resolving patient care issues whenever possible.
- Maintains current and thorough knowledge of DASCO equipment and services.
- Completes supply orders for various supplies per patient request.
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
