The Human Resources Generalist supports DASCO’s mission by delivering expertise in multi-state payroll processing, employee relations, and leave and benefits administration. This role ensures accurate and compliant payroll execution through Paylocity, while providing responsive support to associates and leaders. The HR Generalist plays a key role in fostering a positive employee experience, maintaining compliance across multiple states, and supporting core HR functions that align with DASCO’s culture and values.

This is a full-time position. May include both in-office and at home flexibility.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory role.
Work Environment
This job operates primarily in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is typically required to sit; occasionally required to stand, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and rarely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include both close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Key Responsibilities
Multi-State Payroll Administration (Paylocity)
- Process and audit multi-state payroll in Paylocity, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Manage payroll changes including new hires, terminations, pay adjustments, bonuses, and deductions.
- Reconcile payroll reports, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues in partnership with Finance.
- Maintain compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements across multiple states.
- Support year-end payroll processes including W-2 audits and distribution.
- Serve as a trusted HR partner to leaders and associates, providing guidance on employee relations matters, including performance management, attendance, and workplace concerns.
- Conduct investigations, document findings, and provide recommendations aligned with company policy and legal guidelines.
- Support a culture of accountability, engagement, and respect through consistent communication and coaching.
- Assist leaders with conflict resolution, corrective actions, and documentation.
- Administer leave programs including FMLA, ADA, personal, and state-specific leaves, ensuring compliance and clear communication.
- Coordinate end-to-end leave processes, including documentation, tracking, and return-to-work transitions.
- Support benefits administration, including enrollment, qualifying life events, and associate inquiries.
- Maintain accurate benefits data in Paylocity and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Partner with brokers and vendors to resolve escalated benefits issues.
- Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Support HRIS workflows, reporting, and data integrity within Paylocity.
- Assist with audits, reporting, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
- Contribute to HR initiatives that support engagement, retention, and organizational culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 2–4 years of HR experience, preferably with focus in leaves, benefits, workers’ comp, or compliance.
- Strong working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, OSHA, and state leave laws.
- Experience with HRIS systems; Paylocity experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex processes with clarity and empathy.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
