This position is located within the Office of Information & Technology (OIT), End User Services (EUS), District Operations, at a Veterans Administration duty location within the U.S. The incumbent serves as the primary advisor and point of contact to the Area senior IT executive manager and management officials on information management (IM) issues and IT projects under development or planned for the serviced organization(s).
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-13 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-12. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.

Basic Requirements Experience:Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

- Administer information systems security program and implements information systems security procedures.
- Provide leadership in implementing, evaluating, and improving processes in the standardization of IT systems.
- Provide oversight of the operation of an information technology unit that includes multiple IT disciplines.
- Plan and implement national Information Technology Programs.
- Plan work, keeps supervisor informed of issues or controversies that arise unexpectedly, and recommends solutions to issues.
- Develop and implement metrics for the evaluation of IT effectiveness and efficiency.
- Monitor customer satisfaction, trouble ticket resolution and other data as needed to determine effectiveness of the program.
