Daryl L Proctor DDS Dental Corporation is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic RDA Orthodontic Assistant to join our dedicated dental team in Placerville, CA. Responsibilities:
- Assist the orthodontist chairside during orthodontic procedures, including bonding, banding, and wire adjustments
- Take and process dental X-rays, photographs, and Scans for orthodontic records
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and maintain a clean, compliant treatment area
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and orthodontic appliance care
- Place and remove orthodontic brackets, archwires, ligatures, and elastics under doctor supervision
- Document patient records accurately and update treatment charts in dental software
- Communicate effectively with patients and families to ensure a comfortable, positive experience
Requirements:
- Valid California Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license required
- Prior orthodontic assisting experience helpful but not necessary
- Current X-ray certification and knowledge of infection control protocols
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients of all ages
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-focused dental environment
