Location: Hillside, IL
Reports to: PrePress Manager
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Responsible for producing final press ready PDF pages & proofs for projects
- Convert supplied files and or use supplied instructions to create final files
- Apply trap and print specifications to files
- Ensure high resolution images are connected to page layouts
- Check for page bleed, misaligned font type, perform any image/tint merges as needed
- Output plates for the offset department
- Compliance with all data integrity
- Follow all QC measures assigned to the PrePress department
Qualifications:
- 5 years in prepress - direct mail & marketing industry preferred
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Must be proficient in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, Pitstop
- Knowledge of Kodak Prinergy, Workshop, Preps
- Knowledge of Enfocus Pitstop Pro, Microsoft Excel & Word
- Excellent attention to detail
- Must have excellent verbal & written communication
- Must be solution oriented
- Experience handling a variety of pre-press projects
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- This job requires you to sit in a cubicle or office, on a computer (1 or more monitors) for the majority of the day.
- Cutting physical proofs with sharp objects
- Assist in maintenance aspects within the department
- May be required to work extended/evening hours as needed.
- Ability to walk up & down stairs.
- Work hours: Start time 1-2PM: End time 9:30-10:30 PM
