General Diagnostic Procedures
- Performs all diagnostic procedures following policies and procedures established by the department.
- Adjusts patient care based on age-specific needs.
- Uses all equipment properly and in a manner that minimizes hazards of electric shock.
- Selects appropriate equipment for each individual ultrasound exam.
- Adjusts the equipment controls and selects the correct transducer according to the organ being examined.
- Explains procedures and responds to questions appropriately.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the PAC’s System.
- Working knowledge of CD Burning.
- Completes patient charges for each exam in a timely manner.
- Transports patients to and from the department.
- Maintains a clean and orderly environment.
- Able to note when order and inclination will not be correct.
- Uses computer to access reports.
- Follows protocols for releasing of images.
- Assists with administrative responsibilities of the department to include scheduling appointments, answering the phone, etc.
- Works with administrative support for invasive procedure scheduling
- Performs all quality controls procedures daily as assigned and maintains appropriate logs.
- Participates in annual surveys and inspections
- Able to teach/aid students.
- Demonstrates competency on performing all ultrasound procedures and use of the equipment.
- Demonstrates knowledge of AS reporting system.
- Follows proper protocol for the Trophon Disinfection System.
- Assists with the ultrasound accreditation process.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- 0-1 year experience in Ultrasound in a hospital setting preferred
- Registered/licensed with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), with RVT (registered vascular technologist) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Licensed by the Board of Medical Imaging/Radiation Therapy in the State of New Hampshire
