General Summary:
This position provides project management and coordination for multi-departmental and agency-wide implementation of services and major capital projects and includes the coordination for the planning, design, permitting, construction, and delivery of transit amenity pads and related on-street improvements. This role ensures that the infrastructure improvements, shelters, ADA-compliant boarding areas, lighting, signage, and associated civil work are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with transit agency standards and local regulations. The position requires strong field management skills, stakeholder coordination, and the ability to manage multiple small-to-medium projects simultaneously.

- Manages, develops, assists and supports the design, implementation and operation of complex service development projects.
- Oversee the work of contract personnel and consultants. Manage contractors, subcontractors, and field crews to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to project plans.
- Develops project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans for amenity pad construction and upgrades. Prepares and/or reviews planning, project definition, criteria, design, scheduling, cost and scope of services in coordination with other DART departments.
- Analyzes projects to determine status, compliance with requirements, cost-effectiveness and timeliness. Make changes or modifications to ensure compliance with established project objectives.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for internal departments, contractors, local jurisdictions, and utility companies. Communicates project updates, milestones, and impacts to transit operations. Works with right of way, traffic control, and permitting authorities to secure approvals and maintain compliance.
- Coordinates with design consultants, utilities, and permitting agencies to ensure constructability and compliance.
- Reviews design drawings, specifications, and ADA requirements for accuracy and feasibility.
- Performs technical review of projects and prepares technical reports and correspondence.
- Monitors progress, resolve field issues, and implement corrective actions when needed. Ensures all work complies with ADA, local codes, transit agency standards, and safety regulations.
- Coordinates installation of shelters, benches, lighting, signage, and other transit amenities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering, Business, Transportation Planning, Construction Management, Public Administration or a related field.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the transportation industry or civil construction with at least three (3) years of project management experience.
- Familiarity with ADA requirements for transit facilities.
