What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Warehouse position at Dart Container?
Shifts Available:
- 1A: 11p–7:30a (Sat night–Thurs AM)
- 3C: 3p–11:30p (Tues–Sat)
We’re looking for hands‑on Lead Warehouse Associates to support daily operations, coordinate workflow, and help keep our warehouse running safely and efficiently. Leads spend about 85% of the time on the floor supporting employees, inventory, and dock activities.
What You’ll Do
- Support safety, quality, production, and efficiency targets
- Perform floor audits, monitor metrics, and escalate issues as needed
- Communicate effectively with oncoming shifts and other departments
- Coordinate inbound/outbound shipments, trailers, and documentation
- Resolve shipment issues with vendors and internal teams
- Manage inventory, cycle counts, space utilization, and FIFO
- Train staff on SAP and serve as a systems subject matter expert
- Participate in lean and continuous improvement activities
What You Need
- 1 year warehouse/material handling experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Leadership ability and strong communication skills
- Microsoft Word & Excel proficiency
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to obtain/maintain a PIT license
- Basic math and inventory software experience
Preferred
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
- Prior lead experience
- SAP knowledge
- Manufacturing or high‑volume warehouse background
