Job Summary: Provide diverse learning opportunities for early childhood classroom using hands-on learning and interaction. Plan daily social-emotional, literacy, and foundational mathematical learning experiences based on early childhood foundations and developmentally appropriate strategies for curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Serve as Teacher of Record and provide support and/or instruction for Head Start students with IEPs. Collaborate closely with other staff members. Follow all mandatory Head Start and state-licensing requirements.
Certification and Qualifications: Certification and Qualification: Valid Indiana Teaching License with Special Education certification and credentials to work with Early Childhood or Pre-k/Kindergarten students; Ability to work with young children; Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and document student progress, providing feedback to students and parents.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and collaborative planning.
- Supervise students during school activities, field trips, and breaks.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet students' varying needs.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior.
- Comply with school policies, state regulations, and ethical teaching standards.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during classroom instruction and supervision.
- Manual dexterity to operate classroom technology and equipment.
- Visual and auditory ability to monitor student behavior and respond to classroom situations.
- Ability to move quickly in response to student safety needs.
- Ability to perform light physical activities—such as bending, kneeling, and reaching—as required in a classroom setting, as well as lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
