Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of company facilities, grounds, fleet, and production-related equipment. This role performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and general facility upkeep across multiple buildings and operational areas. The position also supports fleet maintenance activities, uses a computerized maintenance management system to track work and assets, and coordinates with outside vendors and contractors when needed. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with preventative maintenance programs, and the ability to manage multiple maintenance priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Core Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist with maintenance and repair of facility equipment, machinery, and building systems
• Clean and wash AC coils and HVAC components
• Change air filters on a routine basis
• Clean gutters and assist with exterior building maintenance
• Grease bearings and follow lubrication schedules
• Clean grease traps and remove buildup in designated areas
• Change lights and light fixtures as needed
• Assist with minor construction and repair projects, including painting, hanging Sheetrock, running conduit, and threading pipe
• Support troubleshooting and repair of machinery and facility systems
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintenance protocols
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Minimum of 3 years of consistent work history; maintenance or related field preferred
• Valid driver’s license required
• Basic knowledge of HVAC systems
• Basic knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems
• Basic mechanical knowledge, including bolts, fasteners, and general repair work
• Basic understanding of pneumatics
• Basic to intermediate welding experience preferred
• Ability to operate a forklift and scissor lift preferred
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated dependability, initiative, and willingness to learn
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, walk between buildings and throughout plant, warehouse, and office environments, and perform physical tasks that involve pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, stooping, handling materials, and mounting and dismounting forklifts, trucks, and maintenance vehicles. Work is performed in plant, warehouse, office, and outdoor environments and may involve regular exposure to noise, dust, fumes, odors, moving objects, electrical equipment, pressurized systems, mechanical equipment, and other potentially hazardous materials or conditions. The position may require early arrival before production startup and after-hours response for emergency maintenance needs.
