Job Summary
The Sales Assistant III/Market Development/ISO & Document Control supports the Director of Apparel Sales by coordinating and carrying out requests and communication between sales and customers. Translates customer requirements to Darlington systems and communicate where necessary. Enter all customer orders, maintain customer cross reference items and manage customer project level requests through the organization. Provide daily updates on customer orders, execute sample requests and perform other necessary tasks to ensure a proper flow of communication between sales and production.
In addition, the Sales Assistant has marketing functions relating to the Directors’(supervisor for this position) responsibilities. These include coordinating Sales Releases multiple times of the year and sending them out to entire Sales team. Updating, adding, and maintaining the Darlington Fabric Price List used by Sales team. Preparing special fabric mailings to specific customer lists provided by entire sales team.
This position also handles the Document Control and ISO functions for the Sales team.
Responsibilities
- Assist account manager with follow up after sales calls/sampling
- Perform a variety of clerical and administrative activities to support Darlington sales staff, including custom customer spreadsheets and/or reports.
- Responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of information and follow up for existing and prospective customers.
- Continually learn technical selling skills and product knowledge
- Have complete understanding of pricing & added value options and articulate it to customers as necessary
- Frequently communicate with customers & internal departments via email and phone
- Assist in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed. Attend on-site customer meetings as required.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls and follow-up activities within assigned territory.
- Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all support departments.
- Coordination of special projects – DFC Fabric Price List, Sales Releases, Coordinating and gathering trial fabrics for 3rd party testing and special presentations to Tier 1 customers.
- Manage House Accounts and other accounts as deemed necessary
- Address customer inquiries promptly and resolve any issues with professionalism and positivity
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily sales goals and enhance overall store performance
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with a genuine desire to assist and connect with people
- Minimum one year Administrative/Customer Service experience
- Textile manufacturing experience a plus
- Previous sales experience a plus
- Exposure to and working knowledge of ISO practices a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and assist in various store functions as needed
- Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, efficient and detail oriented.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and effectively prioritize work independently
- Proficient (beginner/intermediate) working with Microsoft Office Word, Office, Excel, Power Point & Adobe, Lotus Notes.
Pay: $22.26 - $28.39 per hour
