Job Goals: The Coordinating Teacher will provide leadership and assistance to staff members in the areas of curriculum and instruction in order to improve student performance. He/she will coach teachers in effective instructional strategies and practices, conduct demonstration lessons, collaborate with teachers, and plan appropriate professional development activities.

Requirements

- Master's Degree required
- Professional Teaching Certificate required
- Minimum of five (5) years highly successful teaching experience

Professional Development for Teachers
- Conduct classroom observations
- Model effective instructional strategies for teachers
- Provide opportunities for teacher collaboration
- Provide professional development activities
- Coach teachers in effective strategies and practices
- Help teachers develop expertise in assessing and diagnosing strengths and weaknesses and prescribe the appropriate instruction
- Maintain and oversee School Renewal Plan
- Chair the Response to Intervention Team
- Provide regular reports to district liaison on total program
- Participate in District Staff Development
- Assist in analyzing test data for instructional emphasis
- Assist in developing classroom assessments
- Maintain current materials’ inventory
- Assist teacher in the selection of materials
- Critique and upgrade instructional materials
- Coordinate the ordering process from selection to receipt and distribution of instructional
- Materials and supplies
- Provide literacy instruction for small groups
- Provide tutoring services
- Teach course(s) as necessary
- Assist with programs for parents at the school
- Collaborate with district Parent Involvement Coordinator
