What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential House Manager position at Darlington County Disabilities & Special Needs Board?
Function: Under direct supervision of the CTH II Residential Coordinator, train and care for the individuals with disabilities and special needs, manage the house and perform routine duties in accordance with DCDSNB policies and procedures.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for staffing, supervision and evaluating direct support staff.
- Responsible for daily coverage.
- Completes work schedule.
- Adjusts schedule for persons taking sick or annual leave.
- Delegates authority effectively to ensure completion of task.
- Conducts employee performance appraisals within 30 days of the due date.
- Provides feedback to employees regarding their evaluations and makes recommendations for corrective action.
- Monitor leave usage for all staff (FMLA, Sick, Vacation, Flex, etc).
- Provides leadership, training and direction to staff.
- Identifies training needs to staff.
- Document all trainings and provide on the job training for new staff.
- Ensures that all residents are dressed appropriately for the season and occasion, and neatly for activities.
- Ensures that staff cooperates with dietary and nursing personnel in addressing dietary needs and requirements.
- Plans monthly recreational activities.
- Coordinate with facility training coordinator to obtain all DCDSNB and
- DDSN required courses for staff.
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma and two years of experience working with individuals with special needs. Valid S.C. driver’s license.
Physical Requirements: Reading, writing, driving, standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, speaking, hearing, seeing, depth perception and color vision.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements: Ability to understand, follow and record instruction; both written and verbal. Ability to provide care for the individuals. Knowledge of BSP’s, single plans, and information regarding individuals.
