- Responsible for all financial accounting activity performed on the business system including the impact of transactions, month-end and year-end closings, maintenance of master file databases including G/L, A/P, Treasury and A/R.
- Responsible for the operational financial reporting of the NAFTA business units of Darling International regarding; monthly reporting including the HFM financial reporting.
- Analyze monthly financial results.
- Responsible for the general ledger account analysis of all accounts including various accruals, prepaid and expense accounts.
- Responsible for the preparation and approval of monthly and quarterly SOX control documentation.
- Responsible for the annual allocation of management fees across the region.
- Coordinate with the tax department on monthly and ad hoc data requests.
- Preparation of month-end journal entries.
- Assist in the fulfillment of annual SOX and Financial audit requests (internal and external audits)
- Assist in monthly analysis of operating expenses versus budgets.
- Assist in the development of the quarterly forecast and annual budget.
- Initiate payments of various commissions and rebates on monthly basis or as needed.
- Be proficient and perform as a Super Key User in JDE for the G/L module.
- Follows all food safety procedures and practices to promote our food safety culture.
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with financial reporting, general ledger accounting, month-end close, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and financial/accounting systems.
- CPA and/or MBA is preferred.
- JDE experience.
- Occasional travel to off-site locations is required.
- Requires prolonged sitting and movement throughout office/work locations, as well as occasional use of computers and office equipment.
- Must occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb or balance.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Requires the ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10lbs.
