Job Summary
The Boiler/ waste water Operator is responsible for the operation of the boiler and boiler processes along with the waste water process.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities

- Starts and shuts down boilers.
- Operates Wastewater and air pollution control system.
- Monitors feed water, boiler water, water softener, and water treatment unit.
- Adds chemicals on a daily basis.
- Performs daily greasing and oiling.
- Assures equipment and work area is clean after each shift.
- Maintains safety as top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.
- Has mechanical knowledge and ability to cut and weld
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 3years prior experience in boiler operation and/or rendering facility.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of water tube boilers, principles of combustion, water composition, and steam generation.
- Basic math skills; performs various calculations including heating and fuel consumption rate.
- Good oral and written skills.
- Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
- Frequently must push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly required reach with hands and arms.
Work Environment
Job functions will be carried out in a rendering facility which requires tolerance for wet and/or slippery floors, and high heat and/or cold temperatures.
