Join our pet care team as a Dog Grooming Bather/Assistant, where your enthusiasm for animals and their well being, come together to create a positive experience for pets and their owners. In this role, you will be the salons bather and assist professional groomers by preparing dogs for grooming sessions, ensuring their comfort and safety, and supporting overall salon operations. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop skills in animal handling, pet grooming, and customer service while working in a lively, pet-focused environment. 1 years of experience is a plus. Felixble schedule. Salon hours are 9am-6pm.
Responsibilities
- Safely handle and restrain dogs during bathing, drying, and grooming preparation to ensure their safety and comfort
- Assist groomers with bathing, drying, brushing, and basic grooming tasks under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming stations, tools, and bathing areas to uphold hygiene standards
- Monitor pets’ behavior during procedures, recognizing signs of stress or discomfort and communicating with the team accordingly
- Support pet owners by providing updates on their pets’ well-being and answering basic questions about grooming procedures
- Help with kennel duties such as feeding, cleaning, and caring for animals awaiting grooming or boarding
- Heavy lifting of animals or supplies as needed to facilitate smooth daily operations
Requirements
- Passion for animals with a strong interest in pet care and grooming techniques
- Prior experience with animal handling, dog training, or veterinary assistance is highly desirable
- Knowledge of animal restraint methods and pet grooming practices
- Ability to lift heavy objects or animals safely and comfortably
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, positive attitude
- Experience working with animals in veterinary technician or assistant roles is a plus
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and pet owners
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift

Pay: $16.50 - $19.00 per hour
