Job Description:
Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver responsible for safely transporting elderly individuals, patients, and people with disabilities to and from medical appointments, dialysis, rehabilitation, adult day programs, and other healthcare facilities. Duties include helping passengers enter and exit the vehicle, safely securing wheelchairs and mobility devices, maintaining timely pickups and drop-offs, completing required trip documentation, and following all safety, HIPAA, and transportation requirements.
Essential Driver Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Must meet company and insurance driving requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification (Company training provided)
- Passenger Assistance, Safety and Sensitivity (PASS) training (Company training provided)
- Wheelchair securement/Q’Straint training when transporting wheelchair passengers (Company training provided)
- HIPAA and OSHA training (Company training provided)
- Ability to safely assist elderly passengers and individuals with disabilities
- Ability to operate wheelchair-accessible vehicles when assigned (Company training provided)
- Must pass required background checks and drug/alcohol screening
