Darigold is seeking a skilled Utilities Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and reliability of plant utilities systems. This role is responsible for ammonia refrigeration, boilers and steam systems, wastewater treatment processes, and supporting facility equipment. The Utilities Technician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, support daily operations, and ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. This is a hands-on role requiring strong troubleshooting ability and a focus on long-term reliability over short-term fixes. Qualified candidates will need to be meticulous and have attention to detail, and be able to communicate any issues that need to be addressed in a timely manner.

Schedule: Sunday- Tuesday and every other Wednesday from 5:00pm-5:30am
What You Will Do
· Operate and over look, and all of the Utilities systems at a production facility (ammonia, boilers, wastewater, air compressors, and supporting trades).
· Coordinate and execute daily, monthly, semiannual, and annual rebuilds and maintenance activities.
· Support and execute facility and utility outages, assist with upgrades, and projects, and work with production, quality, EH&S, and engineering teams.
· Own the safe operation, preventive maintenance and make suggestions for the continuous improvement of ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, steam distribution, wastewater treatment, and supporting equipment.
· Maintain accurate records, files, be able to read and comprehend instruction manuals for all equipment.
· Manage work orders, including creation, modification, and completion in the CMMS.
· Be able to comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs), that are currently in place.
· Ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management Program (RMP), environmental permits/discharge, and applicable codes/regulations
· Maintain compliance with applicable food safety regulations (e.g., SQF, FDA, PMO).
· Support plant grounds maintenance to meet operational and regulatory standards.
· Provide hands-on troubleshooting for ammonia refrigeration, boilers, steam systems, wastewater treatment equipment, and associated control systems.
· Work in an orderly fashion, be dependable and work within the current safety policies of the company.
What You Bring:
· In-depth mechanical knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems and safe handling practices; familiarity with IIAR standards.
· Strong understanding of boiler operations, controls, combustion safety, and applicable codes.
· Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and industrial wastewater permit compliance.
· Electrical, PLC, and instrumentation troubleshooting skills.
· Proficiency with CMMS systems and reliability improvement tools (e.g., root cause analysis, TPM, FMEA).
· Strong familiarity with PSM/RMP and EH&S programs related to utilities.
Education, Experience, and Certifications:
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial utilities maintenance/operations.
· Relevant certifications preferred: ammonia refrigeration training, boiler operator license, wastewater operator certification.
· Technical education (Associate degree in HVAC, Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent) or relevant military/industrial experience preferred.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to develop and run technical training programs.
