Job Summary

The Driver operates a truck that transports cargo to and from specified destinations and loads, secures, and unloads cargo. Additionally, the Driver will prepare, receive, and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of goods to ensure timely service.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Prepare truck for operation by inspecting general condition; check fluid levels and tire pressure; obtain or schedule required repairs; validate adherence to road-ability standards
• Drive store box truck for pick-up
• Load truck by ordering, placing, and securing items
• Serve customers by understanding and resolving or forwarding complaints and adjusting orders
• Maintain truck operating efficiency by completing preventive maintenance requirements; perform daily inspection reports; troubleshoot malfunctions; notify supervisor when maintenance and/or repairs are needed
• Maintain safe operation and clean appearance by complying with organization operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well as state and local driving rules and regulations; clean truck exterior and interior
• Prepare daily routing and appropriate documentation for donors and the Dispatch Department
• Maintain telephone contact prior to donor pick up and Dispatch office
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

• Ability to:
  • Use a GPS unit
  • Follow instructions
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Self-starting, self-motivating mindset
• Excellent organizational skills, good attention to detail
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred

Education and Experience

• Delivery/pick-up experience as box truck Driver
• Furniture moving experience
• Loading and unloading of box trucks
• Working knowledge of truck lifts
• Experience/knowledge of thrift store environment, preferred

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

• This position starts at a Revivals location
• Valid driver’s license and current personal auto insurance
• Ability to lift 75 pounds
• Operates in a vehicle (truck) setting and requires frequent times of sitting, driving, and repetitive motion
• Challenging work environments to include stairs and walking long distances. Potential exposure to vibrations, extreme temperatures, hazardous materials, irritants and allergens and noise.

Salary : $20 - $22
