MAINTENANCE PLANNER
POSITION PURPOSE
The Maintenance Planner will be responsible for the administration of the plant’s computerized maintenance manager system (CMMS). This position will also work in support of the maintenance departments preventative maintenance program. Additionally, the maintenance planner will have facilities, maintenance responsibilities and administrative functions within the maintenance department.
Major Requirements
1. Maintenance Planning
Ensures that all required parts are on-hand prior to any scheduled PM activities. Assembles kits with the required parts for the scheduled PM’s. Revises PM tasks as needed to maintain effectiveness of the program. Issues work orders per established PM schedule. Coordinates predictive maintenance inspections and measurements as identified. Processes maintenance work requests and schedules/coordinates parts, labor and other resources as needed to complete the requests.
2. Building Maintenance Tech
Ensure building infrastructure and external grounds are maintained. Follow the primary duties and responsibilities as defined in the Building Maintenance
3. Vendor/Contract Administration
Handles the scheduling and on-site management of vendors/contractors in the facility. Provides daily updates on projects to the Maintenance Supervisor, Engineering Supervisor, and/or Operations Manager. Main point of contact for invoicing, controls a running file of invoicing (monthly) reported out on at the end of each period.
4. MRO Supplies Purchasing/Spare Parts Inventory
Prepares and executes quote requests for MRO inventory for the maintenance and production departments as needed to maintain minimum/maximum inventory levels. Generates purchase orders and places orders after obtaining required approvals. Follows up to ensure that MRO orders are fulfilled completely and on-time. Investigates alternative sourcing for MRO purchases to achieve best possible cost and lead time. Maintains organization of the maintenance storeroom using lean principles (i.e. Kanban and 5S). Receives ordered parts into the CMMS system and stocks them in the appropriate locations. Monitors usage of spare parts and makes stocking recommendations (i.e. minimum/maximum levels and reorder points) based on usage, criticality, and lead time. Provides this coverage as a backup to the Maintenance Coordinator during scheduled time away from the plant.
5. Safety
Maintain a safe work environment ensuring that all plant policies and practices are followed. Maintain an acceptable level of housekeeping in all areas of responsibility.
Specific skills/training/license/certification are needed to perform this position or operate equipment:
o Solid maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility.
- Experience in procurement of MRO parts and supplies.
- Experience in administering a CMMS program.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and cooperatively with other functional groups in the plant.
- Must be able to communicate clearly in both written and oral form.
- Attention to detail
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Previous experience with the EMaint CMMS system.
- Experience with Lean principles.
- Business acumen.
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
