General Qualifications
- Valid Illinois Paraprofessional license
- Previous experience working with children preferred
- B.S. Degree required
- Must possess basic computer skills; i.e., keyboarding, Microsoft Word
- Must have an experience record that indicates success in working with families
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Lead in the development and implementation of a school’s (or school district’s) family engagement activities
- Collaborate with District leaders to develop relationships and communication with community organizations and agencies that will support student achievement
- Serve as a liaison to building administrators, teachers, and community service agencies
- Assist students and families with transition to next grade level
- Conduct outreach activities to increase awareness of District #118 programs and services
- Assist families with community resources, appointments, transportation (when needed), and paperwork
- Participate in building committees as appropriate
- Connect parents/guardians with community resources
- Maintain standards specified in Professional Performance Expectations for District 118 Employees
Terms of Employment
- 180-day position with wages, hours, terms, and conditions of employment in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Board of Education and the Danville Education Association
