Qualifications
- Must hold a valid Illinois Paraprofessional License
- Previous experience working with children and families required
- Associates degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred
- Communication and interpersonal skills which are effective, respectful, and sensitive for a diverse population
- Has an experience record that indicates success in working with families and community agencies
- Must be organized and able to maintain mandated timelines
- Must be able to work independently
Job Responsibilities
- Accept and receive referrals of interested families from various community sources
- Initiate contact with interested families and schedule intake interviews
- Conduct family intake interview, complete required documentation and disseminate information to appropriate home visiting agency
- Based on family needs, make referrals to other community agencies with parental consent
- Maintain ongoing documentation of interested families, wait lists, and Parent Educator caseloads
- Maintain ongoing communication with home visiting agencies, referral agencies, and community service providers
- Recruit new families through positive promotion of the home visiting agencies and their programs
- Participate in community collaboration meetings/events which could include limited evenings or weekend
- Maintain standards specified in Professional Performance Expectations for School District 118 Employees
Reports to
- Building Principal and Pre-K Coordinator
Terms of Employment
- 180 day position plus limited summer hours; wages, hours, terms, and conditions of employment in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Board of Education and the Danville Education Association
